New Star Princess To Host Larger Casino, Dining, and Sports Venues

By Cruise Radio

Star Princess may be the sister vessel of Sun Princess but the cruise line shared that the second Sphere-class ship will introduce a few minor adjustments such as a larger non-smoking casino, expanded dining outlets, and larger athletic courts.

  • The casino’s non-smoking area will host 68 more slot machines than the Sun Princess.
  • O’Malley’s Irish Pub will accommodate additional diners with an extra 32 seats, making it easier than ever to sample Irish food, whiskeys and beers, and live music.
  • Artistic dining venue, Love by Britto, will add 20 seats, enabling the establishment to serve more fusion dishes conceptualized by Chef Rudi Sodamin and artist Romero Britto.
  • Pickleball and basketball courts will be installed in the new SkyDeck Sports Court & Track. Additionally, there will be a splash pad, a jogging path, and shaded areas where passengers can take a break from their athletic activities.

Princess Cruises President John Padgett mentioned that the changes will heighten guest satisfaction. “After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience.”

The two cruise vessels will be the largest in the Princess’ fleet —1,133 feet long and 126 feet wide, weighing 175,500 gross registered tons.

They will also have the same 4,300-guest capacity. The Sun Princess will have 2,157 staterooms which includes 80 suites, 123 mini-suites, 100 connecting rooms, and over a thousand cabins with balconies.
