Harmony of the Seas: a personal review

Royal Caribbean new ship Harmony of the Seas is the trendy topic of the moment, the ship just sailed for her maiden voyage on Sunday the 22nd May, yet this was not the first time that people get to experience the ship. In fact, I was amongst the lucky travel agents who were invited to Harmony’s two-night pre-inaugural sail from Southampton. What do I think of the ship? Continue the reading to find out my impressions.

Harmony of the Seas: simply amazing!
The creativity and the WOW factor reached their peak in this amazing ship which was loved by everyone there, I suppose. There is not a single thing that can be faulted either in the ship itself or in the services delivered: the furnishing is of the highest quality, personnel have been always courteous and smiley, the food is great in any venues tried and tested and the entertainment goes beyond imagination.

As soon as I embarked, I understood that this ship has something magic and this feeling grew stronger as soon as I explored the various areas on board.
Primarily, it did not feel like we were navigating the ocean, only the stunning views remind us of it. I had, in fact, the sensation of being in a resort or in a small town with plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, entertainments and outdoor activities.
When I was walking along the Royal Promenade, I felt that everything was there to satisfy my wishes: I could enjoy a Starbucks coffee in the Café Promenade, have a slice of warm pizza in Sorrento’s, have a sing in the Karaoke bar, On Air, have a dance in the Latin music bar, have a glass of champagne in the classy lifting bar or browse the shops: what else you can wish for? And this is just one area of the ship.

My favourite spot is certainly Central Park which is a real on board park:  a very nice paved promenade with many plants and flowers, the atmosphere is peaceful which is ideal for reading a book and have a drink in one of the outside sittings.

This ship is certainly spectacular, from the inside and from the outside, however the outdoor activities, such as the Ultimate Abyss slide, the Flow Rider, the mini golf, the aqua park are phenomenal and really deliver the WOW factor. However, those facilities cannot be used when it is raining, I was in fact a bit disappointed because it was raining.

Many people express their concern on the passenger capacity of Harmony, which can carry more than 6,000 passengers. I believe all those people can be well accommodated by the ship, additionally there are many fast lifts to speed up the queues. This factor makes your holiday even more exciting because you will not meet the same people along your holiday.

Additionally, the layout makes it very easy to navigate and there are signs and designs that help you understand the flow of the ship.

I can certainly recommend to this ship to everyone who is willing to experience a different and more fun way of cruising without giving up the scent of lux and the quality which come up with the cruising concept. As cruise agents we would recommend this ship to families and youngsters for an explosive holiday.
