With 300 metres in length, this ship is able to welcome 2650 guests on board. Each room comes with a veranda.

This state-of-the-art ship was designed by and Yran&Storbraaten, but just like historic ss Rotterdam and other HAL ships, it comes with a classical Queen’s Lounge and a Grand Dutch Café with stepped gables. There are some ultramodern restaurants as well as traditional ones like The Pinnacle.

On 21 May 2016 ms Koningsdam will be visiting Rotterdam. At the moment no information has been shared on the inauguration date or on the person who will inaugurate this ship, whose homeport will be the city of Amsterdam. While Rotterdam will continue to remain home to ms Rotterdam, ms Prinsendam will be based in IJmuiden. This was previously communicated at the press conference of HAL and Cruise Port RTM on 20 January.

Also it was confirmed that HAL intends to seriously boost the cruise industry in Europe. As far as HAL is concerned, Cruise Port Rotterdam will be the partner par excellence for further expanding cruising from and to Rotterdam and with Rotterdam presenting a home base for round trips. At the moment ms Rotterdam is on an Asian cruise. After that the ship will be heading for Indonesia and it is due to be back again on 7 April. As of 2016 ms Rotterdam will be offering new cruise trips to Boston (from Rotterdam through Scotland, Norway and Iceland). And on 4 July 2015 the ship will be mooring at the Rotterdam cruise terminal for the hundredth time. The first time was back in 1997, to attend HAL’s 125th anniversary.
